Job Description

As a Clinical Physiologist, you will provide essential administrative support to the Lead Clinical Physiologist and Cardiology Department Coordinator. You will also assist in managing the technical resource efficiently and effectively in order to ensure the provision of the highest quality of invasive and non-invasive service to cardiac patients.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

·  Perform a wide range of procedures on adults, as requested by the clinician. This will include; Stress testing, tilt table testing, ECG testing, and BP and HR ambulatory monitoring

·  Analyse and interpret real time results and communicate findings to relevant team members and cardiologist

·  Monitor and respond to changes in the patients’ clinical status

·  Perform relevant procedures at independent practitioner level

·  Provide expert and specialist advice to patients, colleagues and clinicians regarding outcomes of cardiology procedures and results to enable development of individual care plans

·  Act autonomously to deliver appropriate and individualised patient care at all times

·  Provide technical cover to all areas of the Clinical Physiology service

·  Initiate outpatient registration process ensuring that all relevant patient details are recorded onto patient administration system and paper records

·  Investigate any identified or reported electro-medical equipment faults

·  Carryout any additional duties as required by the department manager

Skills and Experience

 

·  Registered/accredited by relevant body e.g. the RCCP, BSE and SCT

·  Substantial post qualification experience of working within a cardiology unit

·  In possession of or working towards attaining Intermediate Life Support status

·  Ability to recognise clinical problems early and report/take appropriate action

·  Confident communicator with high levels of written and spoken English

·  Working knowledge of IT systems, such as the Microsoft Office suit

·  Previous experience of working within a private hospital is desirable
